360Village Founder Profile

Dan Stone, M.S. is the founder of 360Village. Since 1998 he has worked with small business owners across the U.S. to help them navigate the hurdles associated with online marketing — search engine visibility, communicating a professional online image and satisfying users on a variety of computer set-ups (different browsers, operating systems, display size, etc.). 360Village clients gain from Dan's ability to patiently communicate technical concepts in non-technical terms.

Dan started the business in the early days of the Dot Com boom, after serving as the Online Services Manager for the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) in Oakland, California. Dan's background in the public sector, in Internet technologies as well as city planning, has proven valuable for 360Village's local government clients. Prior to ABAG, Dan worked as a City Planner for Phoenix, Arizona and as a Planner for a private land use and environmental consulting firm in San Diego contributing to environmental impact reports as well as master plans for large-scale developments. He earned an interdisciplinary Master's degree in Environmental Economics from San Diego State University and a Bachelor's degree from U.C. San Diego with dual majors in Economics and Urban Studies & Planning.

Dan is the author of two technical books targeted at less than technical audiences. Web Site Marketing Essentials, published in 2007, and an e-book that first sold online in 1997. An Econometrics Help & How To Guide has sold hundreds of copies to students and faculty in over two dozen countries via PDF download.

Dan leads seminars and workshops for small business owners on topics relating to online marketing and web site development several times each year. If you are interested in attending an upcoming workshop, would like Dan to speak to your group, or would like to discuss a potential project, please use the Contact Form and you will be promptly contacted.
